Hammond Sessions presenteert: Broodje Bal met Sven Figee (Sven Hammond)
Bij dit prachtige weer (althans vandaag) hoort zonnig nieuws! Want onze vijfde editie van Broodje Bal studio concerten wordt een hele speciale.
Denk eens aan een middag bomvol Hammond maar dan ook echt bom bom bomvol Hammond, en doe daar dan nog eens heel heel heel veeeeel meer Hammond bij. Vind je het nog steeds leuk? Dan is de aankomende Broodje Bal met Mostert echt iets voor jou.
Hammondorganisten Rob Mostert en Sven Figee (Sven Hammond) gaan elkaar muzikaal uitdagen. En dat wordt waanzinnig! Ieder achter een Hammond met onze eigen en welbekende drummer Chris Strik als stuwende diesel ertussenin.
Sven Figee is componist, dirigent, producer en musicus en de drijvende kracht achter Sven Hammond. Hij schitterde ook in het televisieprogramma The Voice of Holland, waar hij deel uitmaakte van het ‘dreamteam’ van Angela Groothuizen. Voorheen speelde hij onder andere voor Anouk, Splendid, Chris Zegers, Di-rect en Boudewijn de Groot, waar wilde uiteindelijk toch zijn eigen ding doen. Nadat hij het bandje Sven Hammond Soul was begonnen, met een vaste bassist, gitarist en drummer, brak een nieuw tijdperk voor hem aan. Vanaf dat moment kon hij zijn grote liefde, het orgel, heerlijk laten gieren op North Sea Jazz en bij de Wereld Draait Door. Inmiddels zijn we ruim 10 jaar en 4 albums verder en is de ‘Soul’ uit de bandnaam verdwenen. De Soul is nog steeds in hun muziek verscholen, maar de band klinkt harder en rauwer dan voorheen. Blues en Rock zetten de toon. En deze geweldige rocktrip stoomt heerlijk door met veel nationale en internationale optredens en lovende recensies tot gevolg. Wij zijn daarom super blij dat Sven de tijd heeft gevonden voor ons studio concert.
Rob Mostert en Sven Figee zijn echte muziekvrienden en kennen elkaar al jaren. Ooit hebben zij samen de Radio 6 Hammond Battle met organist Rob Schepens live in de uitzending gedaan en dat beviel zo goed dat ze dat concept later met organist Carlo de Wijs in de Nederlandse theaters hebben uitgewerkt tot een heuse ‘Hammond-battle’ onder begeleiding van de Rob Mostert Hammond Group in een echte originele boksring.
Tijdens Hammond Happening in de Melkweg spraken de twee heren met elkaar tijdens één van onze leukste interviews van de avond (die je hier kunt terugkijken) en ons aankomende concert werd een feit. Op Pinksterzondag 20 mei a.s. gaan ze het met z’n 2en plus drummer Chris Strik eens dunnetjes over doen.
Wat kun je verwachtten? Van echte Hammond Boogaloo’s tot Rock en van Blues tot Ballads en Soul, plus een flinke dosis gezelligheid en humor want daar houden deze 2 Hammondbeesten wel van.
